The main objective of this event is to discuss the funding opportunities for the Egyptian ICT community including enterprises, universities and research institutes. The event will cover the upcoming calls in 2017 in different research areas related to ICT.
H2020 is the new EU framework program for research and innovation. It is considered to be the largest EU research and innovation program ever with nearly'80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020). At the heart of the H2020 is the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) component with a considerable funding portion of the overall framework budget.
Research and Innovation constitute a fundamental element of the cooperation between the European Union and Egypt. For the last years, the two partners have been cooperating notably through the 'Research, Innovation and Development' Program. Egypt was the first partner country in the Southern Mediterranean with participations in 126 main-listed projects. The budget of these projects reached around '588 million. The share of Egyptian participants amounted to '15 million covering various areas including ICT, health, agriculture environment, nano-sciences, transport and social sciences.
