1,000 CTFL Software Testers Certified by ESTB

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is defined as an architecture for developing, deploying and managing semantically enriched, loosely coupled, platform independent, work units composed as ĎServicesí among Providers and Consumers to support business functions. SOA is considered the fourth wave of distributed computing approach, which began with the centralized computing paradigm in the 1960s and 1970s, then moved through the PC and client-server era to the rise of the Internet and the web. The openness created by the web increases the need for integration and enables the foundation of SOA that allows the creation of Service-centric systems. Such systems integrate services from different providers regardless of the underlying operating systems or programming languages of those applications.


SDN Application is a software program designed to perform a task in a software-defined networking (SDN) environment. SDN applications can replace and expand upon functions that are implemented through firmware in hardware devices in a conventional networking environment. SDN architectures can take a variety of forms. Following is an example of an architecture based on SDN controllers. The first tier in the SDN architecture is the physical infrastructure, which includes all the hardware devices and cabling required to support the network. Network control is decoupled from hardware and given to a software application, in this case an SDN controller. Controllers, which initiate and terminate traffic, make up the second tier of the architecture. The third tier is the SDN applications, which direct specific functions through the controller. Types of SDN apps include programs for network virtualization, network monitoring, intrusion detection (IDS) and flow balancing (the SDN equivalent of load balancing), among a great number of other possibilities. Context-Rich Systems are systems that pull in a number of diverse signals about the user and their context -- from their location, to the weather, device they are on, speed they are traveling. And like personalized websites, context-rich systems can adjust content, display, and input methods based on the userís current situation. They will allow better feedback for the user and they allow the user to perform more through the website by linking together disparate services seamlessly. (Source: BlueSpark) 

Risk-Based Security and Self-Protection It is certain that with all this advancements comes the issue of security and protection. It is certain that security measures will go from perimeter defense to multi-faceted approaches. Expect security measures built directly into applications making each app self-aware and self-protecting against threats and viruses. Security-aware application design, dynamic and static application security testing, and runtime application self-protection combined with active context-aware and adaptive access controls are all needed in todayís dangerous digital world. This will lead to new models of building security directly into applications. Perimeters and firewalls are no longer enough; every app needs to be self-aware and self-protecting. (Source: accede)
