SECC Participates at Africa-EU Cooperation Forum on ICT in Ethiopia
 
Dr. Haitham Hamza, SECC R&D department manager participated at the "2013 Africa-EU Cooperation Forum on ICT". The two days event was held on December 2-3, 2013 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The event is designed for professionals who are interested in Euro-African collaborative projects in ICT. The conference aims at providing an indisputable focal point for all Africa-EU stakeholders in the public and private sectors involved in collaborative ICT research and ICT for development, with a specific emphasis on networking opportunities, knowledge-sharing and consensus-building.

Dr. Haitham Hamza presented a talk on "Local Innovation and Technology Transfer in Egypt". The talk introduced RECOCAPE project as a success story in local innovation and technology transfer. The talk also briefed the efforts exerted by the Information Technology Academia Collaboration (ITAC) department and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC) in promoting innovation and encouraging R&D collaboration in Egypt.

RECOCAPE Fourth Exploitation Cluster Project with United OFOQ Company Ends Successfully
 
In November 2013, SECC R&D Department ompleted the fourth RECOCAPE exploitation cluster project with United OFOQ company. United OFOQ delivers a number of software solutions like OTMS (OFOQ Talent Management System), FABS (Framework for Agile Business Solutions), Oracle's JD Edwards ERP suite sales and Services, BRS (Baggage Reconciliation System). Smart-M3 aims to provide a semantic web information sharing infrastructure between software entities and devices. It combines the ideas of distributed networked systems and semantic web.

The pilot project aimed at using SMART-M3 architecture as a proof of concept for utilizing semantic technology in implementing applicant module main functionalities. The pilot also demonstrated ontology building and SPRQL queries. SECC team provided the development team of the company with both theoretical and practical experience in SMART-M3 technologies.

RECOCAPE Third Exploitation Cluster Project with Omega Soft Projects Company Ends Successfully
 
November 2013 witnessed the successful completion of the third RECOCAPE Exploitation Cluster Project that was held with Omega Soft Projects company. SECC consultants, in collaboration with Omega Soft Projects developers, worked to implement services stack for the HR system provided by Omega Soft Projects using state-of-the-art web services technologies. The newly offered SECC SOA service provided the company with a well-defined and easy to follow methodology and guidelines to adopt the web services technologies (REST, Mule ESB, Tomcat and JAX-RS) in the GPH project (http://www.gph.gov.sa) in order to expose their database services

After attending the Service Oriented Architecture training course offered by SECC in May 2013 as a part of the RECOCAPE project, the company decided to exploit the power of this technology in their solutions. This is to strengthen their market position as a service provider for different platforms and to provide a unified interface for all of the communicating enterprise interfaces whether they are used in portal or mobile applications.

Omega Soft Projects is an IT company established in 2003 with expertise in integrated software solutions with customer basis spread in Middle East and worldwide. Omega Soft Projects works on establishing a new product line for web services implementation and provision.
